What Exorcists Say About Cancel Culture and Forgiveness
This article from Catholicism Pure & Simple explains perfectly the effect of cancel culture and failing to forgive those who have said controversial things in the past but have reformed their lives. I also believe that this is why our society is heading in the direction that it is, because we automatically shun those who have said things that society deems condemnable without the possibility of forgiveness. We also don’t even look at their motives or what they really might have meant, or at the fact that society can be two-faced and condemn one thing but look the other way during a similar situation. Yes, it’s political, but it also comes from an inherent refusal to forgive and a twisted notion of what is unforgivable.
